A video from comedian Joz Norris imagines what a little conversation could have happened offscreen during Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy.
A the Lord of the Rings the video imagines humorous conversations off screen. Based on the classic masterpiece by JRR Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson’s film trilogy was one of the most ambitious and successful of all time. Composed of three sections from 2001 to 2003, The Fellowship of the Ring, The two towers, and The king’s return, the trilogy grossed nearly $ 3 billion worldwide and received numerous accolades and awards, including Best Picture for its final chapter.
the the Lord of the Rings The trilogy takes place in the fantasy world of Middle-earth and follows a hobbit named Frodo Baggins’ (Elijah Wood), on a quest to destroy the One Ring by throwing it into the fiery depths of Mount Doom, where it was forged to the origin. Joining Frodo on his quest are his friends from the Shire, Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin), Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd). The four eventually meet Gandalf (Ian McKellen), Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies), Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Boromir (Sean Bean) to form the Fellowship of the Ring.
While the last film in the trilogy was released almost two decades ago, its cultural influence is still apparent, most recently in a video by Joz Norris, who imagines some of the little conversations that could have taken place offscreen. during the Brotherhood’s long and treacherous journey to Mordor. The writer and actor was inspired to make the video on a 6-day hike and filmed it on location. Watch the video below:
It probably wouldn’t have hurt the the Lord of the Rings trilogy to include a bit more downtime and chatter, but since each movie runs around 3 hours (with the extended versions closer to 4 hours), there probably isn’t much left over. time for non-plot-critical scenes. However, there is a famous and funny scene in Fellowship of the Ring in which Merry and Pipp discuss a hobbit’s meal plan after Aragon denies them the second breakfast.
With Amazon’s highly anticipated Lord of the Rings series currently in production, Norris may be hoping to land a role on the writing team. This video is certainly not a bad audition tape, as it imagines a slightly believable but also ironic portrayal of what the Lord of the Rings a little conversation might seem.
