Join us for Movie Music Monday on Classic FM this holiday.

We will be spending the holidays playing consecutive movie scores on Classic FM. Here’s what to expect …

Whether it’s a galaxy-themed sheet music written by Hans Zimmer or a nostalgic John Williams favorite, there are only a few movie scores that will give you goosebumps.

And on Monday May 31 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., we’ll celebrate these iconic cinematic soundtracks with special programming on Classic FM.

Each hour will be dedicated to a different theme, including an hour of film music which made its debut at the Classic FM Hall of Fame 2021, and Best of British, with themes by Eric Coates.

What is the schedule for Movie Music Monday?

6-9 a.m .: Film Music Monday with Nicholas Owen

At 6 o’clock, Nicholas Owen kicks off the special day with an hour of the greatest film adaptations, featuring scores by Harry potter and The Hobbit in the queue.

Then from 7 a.m., Nicholas features iconic black and white movie soundtracks.

One hour of the best Disney music from 8am ends the last hour of Nicholas’ Movie Music Monday.

9 a.m.-12 p.m .: Film Music Monday with Bill Turnbull

Bill Turnbull kicks off his three-hour program with a selection of iconic sheet music that made it to this year’s Hall of Fame chart, depending on your vote, at 9 a.m..

Don’t miss an hour of romantic favorites from 10 o’clock, with music by Romeo and Juliet, Outside of Africa and more.

And in Bill’s last hour he dedicates the show to glorious musicals from 11 a.m..

12 p.m. – 4 p.m .: Film music Monday with Anne-Marie Minhall

Anne-Marie takes us to the afternoon of Movie Music Monday from 12 p.m., with an hour dedicated to one of the world’s greatest film composers: John Williams.

We’re back in British waters right after at 1 pm however, with 60 minutes of Britain’s most talented composers and their superb cinematic compositions.

Under the projectors from 14h are the best cinematic scores of the 21st century (see our final list here).

Anne-Marie’s show ends with an hour of award-winning films.

4 pm-8pm: Film Music Monday with John Brunning

John Brunning takes the reins of film music starting at 16h, and begins with a selection of popular children’s films.

Then, 17 hours, it’s an hour that only the biggest box office hits take control of Classic FM.

Don’t miss John’s exploration of historical film scores from 18h, before ending on a relaxing note – thanks to an hour of the sweetest film music from 19h.

8 p.m. – 10 p.m .: The classical FM concert with John Suchet: an extravaganza of film music

John Suchet will close the day’s celebrations with a famous music program in the movies.

Expect to hear soundtracks specially written for the big screen and others repurposed from classic classics.

Listen from 20h, when John opens the program with the Intermezzo of Cavalleria Rusticana, used to good effect in the 1980 Martin Scorsese film Angry bull, before a beautiful concerto which finds itself in the spotlight thanks to the romantic drama of 1945 Brief meeting.
