A COUPLE from Penrith enjoyed a heartwarming celebration of their love for each other.

Married on the third anniversary of their first online date, for this young couple, marriage was still on the table.

The bride, Kirsty Nicholson, works in the patient support team at a doctor’s office, and Dom Davis is an accountant, originally from Broughton.

They were married in June at Cockermouth town hall.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, they had decided on a small wedding venue that their immediate families, parents, siblings, nieces and grandparents attended.

They are planning to hold a vow renewal / blessing ceremony in a few years with the wedding they originally planned before Covid to move forward with all their loved ones able to attend.

Dom has offered a romantic and adventurous trip to Disneyland Paris in September 2019, and they hope to spend their honeymoon in Florida in September, restrictions permitting.

Kirsty said of the day, “Dominic loves to have his picture taken so he posed every chance he got.”

And she was right – the couple had many great photos of them taken in the stunning outdoor spaces and in the woods on the Hundith Hill grounds.

The couple were fortunate enough to have the sun rise all day, giving the couple the perfect day they were hoping for.

With the Lake District in the distance for their reception, it was truly a beautiful place.

Kirsty wore a simple yet elegant pencil dress from Coast and will be wearing her real wedding dress for the whole celebration in a few years

Her hair was styled by Jessica Dewhurst and makeup by Emma Lusby.

The couple’s wedding rings were provided by Peter Jackson.

The bride wore a beautiful rose and baby’s breath tie with a eucalyptus necklace.

The groom and the fathers of the bride and groom wore pink buttonholes with rose and baby’s breath buttonholes for the mothers of the bride and groom.

All were provided by Appleby Flower Basket.

A small informal reception was held at the Hundith Hill Hotel near Cockermouth with an aperitif in the garden followed by a delicious three-course meal.

The bride’s cousin, Julie Bell, made the wedding cake, which was a classic two-layered frozen sponge.

The couple’s big day was recorded by the wonderful Peter Ostrowski of Penrith, whose photos captured the magic of the day.
